The engine that powered one of the games to come out for the PC, Crysis, is now available for purchase and has been to made to make converting games from PC to 360 to PS3 headache free. What I mean by that is it allows your game to be tested for each console at the same time, in real time. That is simply amazing.

CryEngine 3 also looks absolutely fantastic. It has some of the best looking graphics of any game. Once developers get their hands on this, we can expect to see some really awesome games without any BS about “inferior ports.” The engine also appears to be flexible with different genres, from First Person Shooters to 3rd Person adventure games.

Personally, I am really looking forward to the games that are going to be made with this engine. It looks beautiful, there won’t be any complaints about which version is the best and it’s easy to develop for all the formats. The easier it is for the devs, the better the games, and in the end that means we, the gamers, win.
